MEGA MILLIONS FEVER GROWS AS JACKPOT HITS ESTIMATED $267 MILLION;
Tuesday`s Drawing Produces Nearly 1.9 Million Winning Tickets
The hottest ticket in the nation is Mega Millions. There was no jackpot winner in Tuesday’s Mega Millions drawing, so Americans woke up to a jackpot that’s bulging at an estimated $267 Million for the Friday, March 2, 2007 drawing.
A total of 1,899,348 tickets across the nation won prizes in the Tuesday, February 27 Mega Millions drawing. That includes 18 tickets that each won $250,000 and 101 tickets that each won $10,000.*
The winning numbers were: 18-31-44-45-48 and the Mega Ball number was 18.
Those 18 tickets came within a heartbeat of winning the jackpot by matching the first five numbers and only missing the Mega Ball number. Those tickets were sold in California (3), Massachusetts (3), Michigan (2), New Jersey (1), New York (4), Ohio (1), Texas (3) and Washington (1).
This jackpot has been growing since January 9, when Mega Millions had its most recent jackpot winner. The jackpot has now rolled 14 times without a winner. The odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 1 in 176 million. The odds of winning any of the Mega Millions prizes are approximately 1 in 40.
Mega Millions is no stranger to exciting jackpots. On May 9, 2000, the jackpot for the Big Game (the forerunner of Mega Millions) grew to $363 million. There were two winning tickets in that drawing: one in Michigan and one in Illinois. That jackpot still holds the record as the largest Mega Millions / Big Game jackpot ever.
Here is a complete breakdown of all winning tickets in the February 27 drawing:*

02/25/2007 POWERBALL JACKPOT GOES TO $90 MILLION; $600,000 POWER PLAY PRIZE WON!
2/24/2007 (Powerball) Powerball will go to an estimated $90 million for Wednesday’s drawing as the grand prize was not hit Saturday evening. Even though the jackpot was not hit, one lucky ticket from Colorado won $600,000 cash with the Power Play option! Six other lucky tickets sold in Arizona (1), Connecticut (1), Kansas (2), Louisiana (1), and North Carolina (1) won $200,000 each for matching all 5 white ball numbers.
The jackpot for the Wednesday, February 28th drawing will be $90 million with the cash option at $43.2 million.
The numbers drawn Saturday evening were 36, 38, 42, 54, 55, and the Powerball was 24. The Power Play multiplier was 3.
Eighteen tickets matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $10,000. Five additional players of that prize level wisely purchased the Power Play and had their prize multiplied by 3 for a $30,000 cash win! A total of 544,737 players across the nation won more than $5.3 million in prizes playing America’s favorite game.
More than 100,000 winning Powerball players multiplied their prize by 3 Saturday. They were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for $1. With Power Play you multiply your Powerball winnings from 2-5 times, except for the jackpot. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night’s multiplier.
Players purchased more than $23.7 million in tickets between Thursday and Saturday night.
best of luck
